Imogene Grayson Horan
September 26, 1911 - October 16, 2008
Imogene Grayson Horan, 97, died Thursday morning at Candler Hospital . She was born September 26, 1911 and lived her entire life in Savannah .
She was preceded in death by her husband, C.J. "Charlie" Horan, her sisters Alcyone "Bobbie" Greenwaide McCoy, Virginia Greenwaide Carpenter and Dale Greenwaide Newberry and her brother L. B. "Buddy" Greenwaide.
Teaching was her passion. She was one of the first teachers at Hancock Day School where she taught for many years. She also taught at Calvary Day School and Memorial Day School .
Imogene was a long time member of the Isle of Hope United Methodist Church, where she was active in Sunday School and Bible Study. There she developed many treasured friendships.
She is survived by her son J.C. "Chip" Grayson and his wife Teri, daughter Gene Grayson, grandchildren Brooke Grayson Denhard David and Lauren Grayson Klein Josh and several nieces and nephews, along with several grand-nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 5:00 - 7:00 PM Friday at Fox and Weeks Funeral Home, Hodgson Chapel.
Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM Saturday at Fox and Weeks Funeral Home, Hodgson Chapel with Dr. Frank Parr officiating. Interment will follow at Bonaventure Cemetery , Greenwich Section.
Remembrances may be made to Isle of Hope United Methodist Church, 412 Parkersburg Road , Savannah , GA 31406 .
